Responsibilities
Staff Management:
Hire, train, and supervise cafe staff, including baristas, servers, and kitchen staff.
Customer Service:
Ensure that customers receive excellent service, handle customer complaints, and resolve issues promptly.
Inventory Management:
Order supplies, manage inventory, and control waste to minimize costs.
Financial Management:
Manage the cafe’s finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
Marketing and Promotion:
Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and increase sales.
Menu Planning:
Plan and implement menu changes, specials, and promotions.
Health and Safety:
Ensure that the cafe meets health and safety standards, and that staff are trained in proper food handling and safety procedures.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Ensure that the cafe is well-maintained, and arrange for repairs and maintenance as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
Hospitality experience:
Previous experience in a cafe or restaurant management role.
Leadership skills:
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
Communication skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Business skills:
Basic business skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
Time management:
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Problem-solving:
Ability to resolve problems and conflicts promptly and professionally.
Working Conditions
Fast-paced environment:
Cafe managers work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Physical demands:
May be required to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and noisy environment.
