Position Overview:
The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for developing, optimizing, and monitoring comprehensive maintenance schedules to maximize plant equipment reliability and minimize operational downtime. Acting as a vital coordinator between Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Maintenance teams, this role ensures that all personnel, spare parts, and tools are seamlessly aligned before job execution.
Key Responsibilities & Workscope
Scheduling, Coordination & Execution
- Schedule Development: Create detailed daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules for all plant equipment and facilities.
- Activity Alignment: Coordinate preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance workflows.
- Resource Allocation: Balance and assign necessary manpower, specialized tools, machinery, and material assets to scheduled tasks.
- Operational Coordination: Work closely with the Operations department to secure safety permits, equipment isolations, and dedicated maintenance windows.
- Material Readiness: Verify the complete availability of required spare parts, raw materials, and external service support before dispatching crews.
CMMS Management, Track & Analytics
- Data Management: Input, track, and update all scheduling parameters and maintenance history inside SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent CMMS software.
- Backlog Control: Actively monitor the maintenance backlog and formulate strategic recovery plans to reduce overdue work orders.
- Performance Indicators: Generate, track, and analyze critical maintenance KPIs—including overall schedule compliance and equipment availability metrics.
- Management Reporting: Prepare structured maintenance progress reports, compliance updates, and analytical summaries for management review meetings.
Campaign Support & Continuous Improvement
- Turnaround Management: Actively support the specialized planning and resource mapping required for major plant shutdowns, turnarounds (TAR), and heavy maintenance campaigns.
- Contractor Oversight: Coordinate on-site contractor schedules and audit their compliance timelines against master project milestones.
- Cross-Functional Optimization: Collaborate with Warehouse, Procurement, and Engineering teams to refine asset management pipelines and develop long-term strategy forecasts.
- HSE & Compliance: Ensure every single scheduled task strictly adheres to corporate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and local Permit-to-Work (PTW) protocols.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated maintenance planning and scheduling experience inside Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or heavy industrial facilities.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on mastery of SAP PM, IBM Maximo, Oracle CMMS, or an equivalent top-tier asset management system.
