Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Machinist to operate and maintain a variety of manual and CNC machines, including lathes, milling machines, drilling, tapping, and grinding equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in precision machining, interpreting technical drawings, and producing high-quality metal components to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Operation & Setup
Set up, adjust, and operate manual and CNC machines (lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, etc.).
Select and install proper tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters (speeds, feeds, depth of cut) for optimal performance.
Perform first-off inspections to ensure accuracy before full production runs.

Precision
Machining & Fabrication
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
Machine parts from raw materials (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.) to tight tolerances ( 0.001″ or better).
Perform turning, facing, threading, boring, drilling, tapping, and milling operations.
Deburr and finish parts to meet quality standards.
3.
Quality Control
& Inspection
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM) to verify dimensions.
Conduct in-process checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
Report deviations and adjust machining processes as needed.
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform routine machine maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, tool replacement).
Diagnose and resolve machining issues (tool wear, vibration, misalignment).
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
Work with engineers and supervisors to optimize machining processes.
Suggest improvements for efficiency, tool life, and cost reduction.
Assist in training junior machinists as needed.
Desired Candidate Profile
o 5+ years as a Manual & CNC Machinist in a metalworking environment.
o Proficiency in lathe, milling, drilling, tapping, and grinding operations.
o Familiarity with CNC controls is a plus.
Technical Skills:
o Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T standards.
o Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds/speeds, and material properties.
o
Experience withprecision measuring instruments.
