In the world of logistics, timing is everything. You will be responsible for the financial health of our supply chain, managing high-volume transactions and ensuring that every riyal spent on fuel, freight, and maintenance is tracked and optimized for growth.
Your Mission
- Freight & Carrier Accounting: Manage and reconcile accounts payable for international freight forwarders, local transport partners, and shipping lines.
- Cost-per-Mile Analysis: Track and analyze operational costs—including fuel consumption, vehicle maintenance, and driver allowances—to provide insights on route profitability.
- Inventory & Warehousing Finance: Oversee the financial valuation of inventory and manage warehouse storage billing for our 3PL clients.
- Revenue Assurance: Ensure all shipments are billed accurately and on time, reconciling delivery manifests against issued invoices.
- Customs & Duty Oversight: Monitor and account for customs duties and port charges, ensuring all import/export financial documentation is airtight.
- VAT & Compliance: Manage VAT filings for logistics services in strict accordance with Qatar’s General Tax Authority (GTA) regulations.
- Operational Reporting: Deliver weekly performance reports on logistics margins and overhead variances to the senior leadership team.
The Profile We’re Looking For
- Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years specifically in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transportation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Technical Savvy: Expert proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills for complex data reconciliation.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of Incoterms, freight billing, and Qatar’s local logistics regulations.
- Analytical Mind: You have an eye for identifying "leakage" in supply chain costs and a passion for optimizing margins.
- Communication: Professional fluency in English; Arabic is a significant advantage when dealing with local customs and transport authorities.
