Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for Linux systems and resolve complex incidents.
- Troubleshoot Linux OS issues, including boot failures, kernel issues, services, package management, upgrades, and migrations.
- Perform OS patching, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
- Optimize Linux system performance for CPU, memory, storage, and NVIDIA GPU workloads.
- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, Puppet, Bash, and Python.
- Manage infrastructure lifecycle using GitLab CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Support VDI technologies including SLURM, AWS DCV, Docker, and Kasm Workspaces.
- Configure and maintain scientific runtime environments using Lmod/Environment Modules.
- Administer Linux agents such as Automox, Nessus, and Puppet.
- Support NFS/SMB storage and troubleshoot containerized workloads.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive automation improvements.
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams for issues beyond the VDI layer.
