Linux Desktop Support Associate (London UK office)

Join us as a Linux Desktop Support Associate at Canonical.

This role offers an opportunity to kickstart your career by working from our London Office. You will provide technical support to employees and customers, facilitate AV support for office events, and manage support cases from problem qualification to resolution, collaborating with colleagues and senior engineers as needed.

We seek a Linux Engineer/Administrator passionate about Linux and customer success, eager to learn and grow within a dynamic team. Your responsibilities include delivering excellent technical support across the Desktop and Server stacks, prioritizing customer issues, and continuously updating your knowledge of our products and technologies.

Responsibilities include:

Investigating customer-reported issues through research and escalation.

Resolving complex problems related to Canonical’s products.

Owning support cases to meet SLA standards and ensure high customer satisfaction.

Engaging with customers via phone, ticketing, and remote sessions.

Participating in a weekend support rotation.

Contributing to and maintaining knowledge base articles.

Understanding Ubuntu development timelines to set accurate customer expectations.

Ideal candidate profile:

Excellent written and spoken English skills.

Strong academic background from high school and university.

Degree in a technical field or relevant experience.

Proven ability to exceed expectations and achieve results.

Experience with Linux troubleshooting, including log analysis and configuration editing.

Familiarity with Linux integration (authentication, network file systems, etc.).

Ability to analyze stack traces and logs effectively.

Quick learner, adaptable, and able to handle customer-facing pressure.

Basic programming skills.

Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks.

Extensive customer support experience with a focus on customer needs and clear communication.
