Job Summary
The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and enjoyment of all guests using the swimming pools, beach, and other aquatic facilities at Palma Beach Resort & Spa. The role requires constant vigilance, prompt emergency response, and the delivery of exceptional guest service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all swimming pool and beach activities to ensure the safety of guests and employees.
- Enforce pool and beach rules, regulations, and safety procedures at all times.
- Perform water rescues and administer First Aid, CPR, and AED during emergencies.
- Conduct daily inspections of swimming pools, beach areas, and lifesaving equipment before opening and throughout operating hours.
- Ensure rescue equipment, first aid kits, emergency telephones, and safety signage are in place and fully operational.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of pool decks, beach areas, sun loungers, and surrounding recreational facilities.
- Monitor water quality and immediately report any irregularities or maintenance concerns.
- Record and report all incidents, accidents, guest complaints, and safety observations accurately and promptly.
- Assist guests by providing information about resort facilities, pool regulations, and recreational activities.
- Support the Recreation team during resort events, activities, and special functions when required.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety regulations, and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to all guests.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Lifeguard Certification from a recognized authority.
- Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Lifeguard in a hotel, resort, water park, or similar hospitality environment.
- Good communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
