Areli Estudio is seeking a highly detail-oriented Letters of Credit (LC) Specialist to join our finance and trade operations team in Mesaieed. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end LC processes, ensuring compliance with international banking regulations, and supporting smooth execution of trade finance transactions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in documentary credits and a disciplined, accuracy-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the issuance, amendment, negotiation, and settlement of Letters of Credit (LCs)
- Review LC terms and conditions to ensure alignment with contracts and trade agreements
- Examine shipping and commercial documents for compliance with LC requirements
- Coordinate with banks, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Ensure adherence to international trade rules including UCP 600 and ISBP guidelines
- Monitor LC timelines, expiries, and payment cycles to avoid delays or penalties
- Maintain accurate records of all LC transactions and supporting documentation
- Support trade finance reporting and assist in audits as required
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with documentary credit transactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Proven experience in Letters of Credit or trade finance operations
- Strong knowledge of international trade finance rules and banking procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and document verification skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Good communication skills for coordination with banks and stakeholders
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in import/export, logistics, or manufacturing industries
- Familiarity with SWIFT messaging and trade finance platforms
- Certification in trade finance (CDCS or equivalent) is an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
