Responsibilities
- Advise business units on legal and regulatory issues related to payments, banking products, and digital services
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation including merchant acquiring, PSP, and partnership agreements
- Oversee and support litigation, customer disputes, and notarial matters in UAE and international jurisdictions
- Maintain up‑to‑date legal templates and contracts in compliance with local and international best practices
- Provide legal support for new product launches, digital initiatives, and service rollouts
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise senior stakeholders on compliance requirements
- Liaise with external law firms, regulatory authorities, and internal risk, compliance, and operations teams
- Deliver legal reports, risk assessments, and business updates as required by senior management
- Coach junior legal staff and contribute to team development, training sessions, and legal knowledge sharing
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized university (Master’s preferred)
- Must be a UAE‑qualified lawyer and fluent in both Arabic and English
- Minimum of 8 years’ legal experience in banking or law firms with financial services clients
- Proven expertise in payments law, litigation, contract drafting, and UAE regulatory frameworks
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide business‑oriented legal advice with high attention to detail
