About the role

Legal Counsel drafts contract templates and reviews contracts of other departments, supports legal cases filed by the AEP or against it. He/she analyzes legal risks for the AEP and develops a mitigation plan.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, negotiate and advise on the preparation of contracts and other legal agreements.

Supportcontinuous improvementof standards for agreements, contract management, and legal processes.

Prepare, manage, and control legal cases filed by, and against, the AEP, draft litigation memos and legal notices in both Arabic and English.

Provide legal opinions regarding all existing and potential liabilities related to the AEP.

Manage relationships with external local and international law firms.

Prepare all required documents and application forms.

Develop legal policies, plans, and procedures.

Deliver training for departments to increase awareness and skills in relation to contract management and legal risk.

Minimum Qualifications

10 years of work experience in a related area.

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Law.

Experience in managing a legal department is a must.

Previous experience in payment services is a plus.

Prior experience in the technology industry is a plus.

Technical and Behavioral Skills

Flexible, positive, andresults-orientedattitude, works well with changing timelines and priorities and can proactively manage up.

Ability to gather and synthesize complex information, make sound tactical decisions, and communicate such information in a clear, simple way to a variety of audiences, ranging from senior executives to working-level analysts and technical specialists.

Project managementskills with the ability to manage multiple activities with both internal and external stakeholders.

Professional fluency in written and spoken English;
Arabic is a plus.
