The Role

We are seeking an experienced Government Relations Manager to manage the organization’s relationships with UAE federal and local government authorities, regulators, municipalities, free zones, and other public-sector stakeholders.

The successful candidate will coordinate government-related activities, licenses, permits, approvals, regulatory submissions, official correspondence, and stakeholder engagements while advising management on relevant government requirements and regulatory developments.

This role is ideal for professionals with experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory affairs, PRO services, corporate affairs, stakeholder engagement, government liaison, or administrative governance.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement government relations strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with UAE government authorities and regulatory bodies
  • Manage day-to-day communication and coordination with federal and local government entities
  • Coordinate business licenses, permits, registrations, approvals, renewals, and government documentation
  • Monitor government requirements, regulatory changes, policies, and procedures that may affect the organization
  • Provide management with timely updates and recommendations regarding government and regulatory matters
  • Represent the organization in meetings and official engagements with relevant government authorities
  • Coordinate applications, submissions, correspondence, and follow-up activities with government entities
  • Maintain accurate records of licenses, permits, certificates, registrations, and regulatory documentation
  • Ensure government-related processes are completed accurately and within required deadlines
  • Support immigration, labor, employment, visa, work-permit, and residency-related processes where applicable
  • Coordinate with HR, legal, compliance, finance, operations, and business units on government-related matters
  • Support regulatory inspections, government audits, and official inquiries
  • Develop and maintain a government stakeholder database and engagement plan
  • Identify potential government-related risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Build professional relationships with key government officials and public-sector stakeholders
  • Support corporate affairs, public affairs, and strategic stakeholder engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate government approvals for new projects, facilities, activities, or business expansions
  • Prepare government-relations reports, status updates, dashboards, and executive briefings
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive government and corporate information
  • Ensure all government-relations activities are conducted ethically and in accordance with applicable UAE laws and organizational policies
  • Support the organization in developing effective long-term relationships with government stakeholders

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Government Relations, Law, Political Science, Communications, or a related field
  • 5–10+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory affairs, PRO services, corporate affairs, or a related field
  • Proven experience working with UAE government entities and regulatory authorities
  • Strong understanding of UAE federal and emirate-level government structures and processes
  • Experience managing licenses, permits, registrations, approvals, and official government documentation
  • Strong stakeholder-management and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of UAE labor, immigration, commercial, licensing, and regulatory processes
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion, and integrity
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple government processes simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively with senior management, government officials, employees, and external stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Arabic language skills are highly desirable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA in Business Administration, Public Policy, Government Relations, Law, Political Science, or a related discipline
  • Professional certifications or specialist training in government relations, public affairs, compliance, or regulatory affairs
  • Strong experience with UAE federal ministries, emirate-level authorities, municipalities, free zones, economic departments, labor authorities, immigration authorities, or other government entities
  • Experience supporting government approvals for major projects, business expansions, construction, infrastructure, or regulated operations
  • Knowledge of UAE corporate, labor, immigration, licensing, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience working with Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or other UAE emirate authorities is an advantage
  • Previous experience in government, semi-government organizations, or highly regulated industries is desirable
  • Experience in sectors such as aviation, healthcare, construction, energy, telecommunications, logistics, financial services, real estate, hospitality, or technology
  • Strong professional network within relevant UAE government and regulatory institutions is an advantage
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is highly desirable
