Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our educational team in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As an LSA, you will play a crucial role in providing additional support and assistance to students withdiverselearning needs. Your contribution will help create aninclusiveand nurturinglearning environmentwhere all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualized Support:Work closely with students who have learning difficulties or special educational needs (SEN), tailoring support to their specific requirements.
Classroom Assistance:Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement strategies and interventions that promote student engagement and academic progress.
Resource Preparation:Assist in the creation and adaptation of learning materials to meet the needs of individual students or small groups.
Behavioral Support:Provide guidance and support to students in managing their behavior and emotions, promoting positive interactions within the classroom.
Progress Monitoring:Monitor and track the progress of students with SEN, keeping accurate records and reporting findings to the appropriate stakeholders.
InclusionAdvocacy:Advocate for theinclusionand equal participation of students with SEN in all aspects of school life, including extracurricular activities.
Communication:Maintain open and regularcommunicationwith parents, teachers, and other support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to student care and development.
Professional Development:Stayup-to-datewith best practices in specialeducationand participate in relevanttraining and developmentopportunities.
Safety and Wellbeing:Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students under your care, both within and outside the classroom.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree inEducation, SpecialEducation, Psychology, or a related field. Additional certifications in specialeducationare a plus.
Previous experience working as an LSA or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of different learning difficulties and SEN conditions, as well as strategies to support students withdiverseneeds.
Strong interpersonal skills,empathy, and patience when working with students.
Effective communicationskills in English, with proficiency in Arabic being a significant advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of amultidisciplinaryteam.
Understanding of the UAE’seducationsystem and regulations is desirable.
