Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Static Equipment
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing static equipment to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Design Focus: Static Equipment such as Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Skids, Tanks, and Structures.
Key Accountabilities
Perform mechanical design and calculations for static equipment based on ASME, TEMA, client datasheets, and project requirements using PV Elite, Codeware Compress, Tekla, and other software.
Prepare and review Mechanical Data Sheets for heat exchangers and other equipment.
Supervise and contribute to the creation of detailed AutoCAD drawings.
Prepare Material Requisition s (MRs/PRs) with appropriate Technical Delivery Conditions for procurement.
Review and validate Material Take-Offs (MTOs), material specifications, and purchase requisitions.
Coordinate and manage client visits, audits, and technical design reviews.
Provide technical support during bidding and proposal stages.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of design documents and drawings.
Resolve design issues during project execution in coordination with project and site teams.
Perform additional engineering tasks as directed by senior management.
Train and mentor junior engineers and CAD operators through on-the-job coaching.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
Master’s Degree in Engineering (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of mechanical design experience in static equipment
Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or EPC environments is advantageous
Leadership experience in guiding small teams and mentoring junior engineers
Key Skills and
Competencies:
Expertise in ASME Section VIII, TEMA, and international standards
Proficiency in PV Elite, Codeware, Tekla, AutoCAD
Knowledge of materials, welding techniques, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
Ability to prepare technical documents like MRs, PRs, MTOs, and BOMs
Effective communication and client management skills
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills
