Role Overview
You will lead the newsroom’s editorial agenda, overseeing Executive Producers and planning functions to deliver distinctive, high‑impact content across social and digital platforms. This role combines strong editorial leadership with operational excellence in a constantly evolving news environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily editorial planning, assignments, and execution of the news budget
- Oversee all newsroom output across video, visual, and multimedia formats
- Provide final editorial review and sign‑off on content
- Drive agile workflows to respond to breaking news and platform demands
- Champion innovative, platform‑native storytelling formats
- Translate audience insights into actionable editorial strategies
- Develop and mentor newsroom talent, ensuring continuous improvement
- Collaborate with Creative, Audience Development, and Editorial teams to optimise delivery
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in a digital‑first newsroom environment
- Strong editorial judgement and experience managing high‑volume output
- Deep understanding of social platforms and audience engagement strategies
