Large Corporate Banking Relationship Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Large Corporate Banking Relationship Manager to manage and expand relationships with large corporate and semi-government clients. The role is responsible for growing the Bank’s financing portfolio, deposits, fee income, and overall profitability while ensuring strong credit quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Sharia principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with large corporate and strategic clients as the primary relationship manager.
- Identify and acquire new corporate banking opportunities to grow financing, deposits, and fee income.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CEOs, CFOs, Treasurers, and other senior decision-makers.
- Structure and execute corporate financing solutions, including working capital, project finance, trade finance, and syndicated finance facilities.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flows, and creditworthiness to assess financing requirements and risks.
- Prepare credit proposals, annual reviews, facility renewals, and financing recommendations.
- Monitor portfolio performance, facility utilization, covenant compliance, and early warning risk indicators.
- Coordinate with Credit, Risk, Legal, Sharia, Treasury, Operations, and Compliance teams to facilitate transaction execution.
- Support Islamic financing structures, including Murabaha, Tawarruq, Ijarah, and other Sharia-compliant solutions.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and financing structures while maximizing relationship profitability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, AML/KYC standards, internal policies, and Sharia principles.
- Maintain portfolio quality, customer documentation, collateral records, and risk management controls.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CFA, MBA, Certified Credit Qualification, or equivalent is required.
- 10-15 years of banking experience, including substantial experience in Large Corporate Banking or Corporate Banking.
- Proven track record managing large corporate relationships and complex financing transactions.
- Strong experience in credit analysis and preparation of credit proposals.
- Experience with large-ticket corporate financing transactions.
- Exposure to syndicated finance, project finance, structured finance, and real estate finance is required.
- Previous experience with a local Qatar bank and/or GCC bank is highly preferred.
- Experience in Islamic banking is strongly preferred.
- Arabic and English language proficiency is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong corporate financial analysis and credit risk assessment skills.
- Expertise in financial modelling and cash flow analysis.
- Deep understanding of corporate lending and large corporate relationship management.
- Knowledge of Islamic financing structures and Sharia-compliant banking products.
- Strong knowledge of trade finance, letters of credit, and bank guarantees.
- Experience in syndicated financing and structured corporate lending.
- Understanding of collateral structures, pricing, and profitability management.
- Knowledge of KYC, AML, Central Bank regulations, and banking compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with senior executives and decision-makers.
- Strong commercial acumen and business development capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
