Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting all kitchen equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. Duties include routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and responding to emergency repair requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment inspection: Diagnose issues with ovens, fryers, grills, dishwashers, refrigerators, and other appliances.
- Preventive maintenance: Conduct scheduled servicing to maximize performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Repairs and replacements: Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues in kitchen and beverage equipment
- Inventory management: Track spare parts and order replacements when necessary.
- Staff coordination: Schedule maintenance during non-peak hours to reduce disruption.
- Compliance assurance: Verify that all equipment meets health and safety standards.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate logs of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
- Technical support: Train kitchen staff on proper equipment use and care.
- Emergency response: Address urgent repair requests quickly and effectively.
- Vendor coordination: Work with external service providers for specialized repairs or warranty claims.
- Workspace organization: Keep tools and work areas clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Additional duties: Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualification, Experience & Knowledge
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in equipment maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in maintaining and repairing kitchen equipment.
- Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of kitchen appliances, their operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Manual interpretation: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Systems knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as they relate to kitchen equipment.
- Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with kitchen staff.
- Physical capability: Able to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
- Availability: Willingness to be on-call and respond to emergency repairs outside regular working hours
- Travel readiness: travel between multiple locations between our restaurants and kitchen
- Driving license: Valid driving license required.
