Responsibilities:
We are seeking a talented Key Account Manager (Railway Freight Business), seconded to our client from the government sector in Doha, Qatar.
You will be responsible for acquiring and managing potential future customers for the rail freight team for the GCC Railway project.
Success in this role includes:
Identifying potential future clients and initiating contact with them.
Discussing potential business opportunities, understanding client needs, and developing commercial models.
Supporting the Railway Business Expert and the Freight Expert in developing the rail freight business plan for the GCC Railway.
Assisting in performing market studies by engaging potential customers and discussing their interest in rail freight.
Supporting the preparation of tender documents and other procurement-related documents.
Qualifications:
To succeed, you should have 15+ years of experience within international transport and logistics companies providing railway services as a core business. Experience as a sales representative for a logistics service provider is essential. You should have developed sales agreements between railways and clients, and hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Deep knowledge of sales activities within logistics services focusing on rail.
Strong ability to conduct sales meetings and negotiate with clients.
Ability to articulate the advantages of rail freight over other modes.
Experience in developing sales agreements, MoUs, LoIs, etc.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
