Job Summary:
The Junior Safety Officer supports the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. The role involves conducting routine inspections, promoting safe work practices, assisting in incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing company health and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct daily site inspections to identify and report unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
Monitor compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and permit-to-work systems.
Ensure employees and contractors use the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participate in safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness campaigns.
Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare reports with corrective actions.
Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, incident logs, and safety documentation.
Support emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation drills and fire safety inspections.
Monitor housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Report safety hazards to supervisors and follow up on corrective actions.
Assist in conducting risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Ensure safety signs, firefighting equipment, and first aid facilities are properly maintained and accessible.
Perform other HSE-related duties as assigned by the Safety Officer or HSE Manager.
Qualifications:
Diploma or bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent safety certification is preferred.
Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
Fresh graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of HSE experience are encouraged to apply.
