Job Summary:
The Junior Planner supports project planning and scheduling activities for construction and engineering projects in Saudi Arabia. The role involves assisting in developing project schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring alignment with project timelines while complying with local standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing baseline project schedules in coordination with senior planners.
- Update and monitor project schedules based on site progress.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against planned timelines.
- Support in identifying delays, risks, and potential impacts on project completion.
- Prepare progress reports, S-curves, and dashboards for management review.
- Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to collect progress data.
- Assist in preparing recovery plans and mitigation strategies for delays.
- Maintain proper documentation of planning records and reports.
- Support resource planning (manpower, materials, and equipment).
- Ensure compliance with project requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field).
- 3–5 years of experience in planning or project coordination (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Basic understanding of construction project workflows in KSA.
- Familiarity with planning tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of planning techniques such as Critical Path Method (CPM).
- Internship or project experience in Saudi construction or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with client reporting standards and project control procedures.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with regular coordination with site teams.
- Frequent site visits may be required depending on project location.
- May involve working on large-scale projects (infrastructure or giga-projects).
- Extended working hours may be required during critical project phases.
