Position Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Estimator with experience in the UAE interior fit-out industry to support the preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, supplier and subcontractor coordination, and assisting in the development of competitive commercial proposals while ensuring compliance with project specifications and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Estimation & Tendering
- Review architectural, interior fit-out, and shop drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and detailed cost estimates for interior fit-out projects.
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions, commercial proposals, and bid documentation within specified deadlines.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate pricing, and compare offers to ensure cost competitiveness.
- Support the preparation of cost breakdowns, pricing schedules, and tender clarifications.
Cost Analysis & Coordination
- Coordinate with the design, procurement, and project teams to verify material specifications, project requirements, and pricing assumptions.
- Maintain and update estimation records, supplier databases, and historical cost information.
- Assist in value engineering initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project requirements.
- Support management with cost comparisons, budget analysis, and pricing recommendations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure all estimation documents are accurate, complete, and submitted within tender timelines.
- Organize and maintain estimation files, quotations, and supporting documentation for future reference.
- Assist in preparing reports related to tender status, pricing analysis, and awarded projects.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of UAE experience in interior fit-out estimation.
- Good understanding of quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, tendering procedures, and cost estimation.
- Familiarity with interior fit-out materials, finishes, and subcontractor pricing within the UAE market.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and MS Office.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
