Job Description
To support the electrical engineering team in the design and delivery of electrical systems in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards. The role assists senior engineers in preparing electrical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation, while coordinating with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely project deliverables and gaining practical experience in electrical engineering consultancy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of electrical designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documents for building and infrastructure projects under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Assist in designing electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, and other relevant electrical systems.
- Perform basic electrical calculations and assist in preparing load schedules, voltage drop calculations, and other design calculations.
- Ensure assigned designs and drawings comply with applicable UAE regulations, authority requirements, international codes, and NCO standards.
- Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to identify and resolve design conflicts.
- Prepare and update electrical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or other relevant engineering software.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of electrical building services and engineering design principles.
- Basic understanding of electrical load calculations, lighting, power distribution, and related systems.
- Knowledge of relevant UAE codes, authority requirements, and international electrical standards is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Good coordination and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
