Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend services for the Bank’s e-Channels and Digital Banking applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java technologies, Spring Framework, REST/SOAP web services, and enterprise application development.

The successful candidate will participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing applications while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, QA teams, architects, and project managers in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application Development

  • Design, develop, test, and implement backend services using Java technologies.
  • Develop new features and enhancements based on business requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance e-Channels and related banking applications.
  • Develop reusable, scalable, and maintainable application components.
  • Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions.
  • Produce high-quality, well-documented code following coding standards.

2. Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Participate in all phases of the SDLC.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements.
  • Prepare technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Perform code reviews and unit testing.
  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Participate in production deployment and post-production support.

3. API & Integration Development

  • Develop and maintain RESTful and SOAP web services.
  • Integrate banking applications with internal and external systems.
  • Develop secure APIs using Spring Security.
  • Support third-party integrations and middleware services.
  • Troubleshoot API integration issues.

4. Security & Compliance

  • Implement secure coding standards and security best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Bank security policies and SDLC standards.
  • Apply authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and secure application deployment.

5. System Support & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve application defects and production issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents.
  • Monitor application performance and optimize system efficiency.
  • Support deployment activities and release management.

6. Quality Assurance

  • Develop unit tests and support integration testing.
  • Ensure adherence to QA standards and coding best practices.
  • Participate in defect analysis and resolution.
  • Maintain high application quality throughout development.

7. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Business Analysts, QA Engineers, Architects, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Communicate project progress and technical issues effectively.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external consultants where required.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Computer Science

Experience

  • 4–6 years of Java application development experience.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications.
  • Experience in Banking or Financial Services is preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Experience in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience developing secure enterprise applications.
