Job Summary:
Naoero Hospital is seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Officer to join our Information Technology team. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will provide day-to-day technical support to hospital staff, maintain IT infrastructure, and ensure reliable operation of computer systems, networks, and hospital applications that support quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Respond promptly to IT support requests and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripheral devices.
- Create and manage user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions.
- Support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and hospital information systems.
- Monitor and maintain LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and telephone systems.
- Assist with CCTV, biometric systems, and other IT infrastructure.
- Perform preventive maintenance on IT equipment and maintain IT asset inventory.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs, maintenance, and software licensing.
- Apply security updates, antivirus protection, and monitor for security incidents.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support tickets, IT assets, and technical procedures.
- Provide after-hours support during emergencies or critical system outages when required.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Experience supporting Hospital Information Systems (HIS), CCTV, biometric systems, or networked medical devices.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an IT Support or Help Desk role.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
- Microsoft Office Suite
- LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi networking
- Computer hardware installation and troubleshooting
- Printers, scanners, and peripheral devices
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
