Role Description The IT Support Officer (Entry / Junior Level) is a full-time remote role responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to team members and community stakeholders. This role includes responding to support requests, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, and assisting with desktop computer setup, configuration, and maintenance. The IT Support Officer will support printers and basic networking connections, document solutions, and escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary. The position also involves maintaining an organized ticketing workflow, updating knowledge base articles, and contributing to a reliable and secure IT environment that enables smooth collaboration across the collective.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Technical Support and Troubleshooting for common hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Candidates should possess foundational Information Technology skills, including understanding of operating systems, basic networking concepts, and user account management.
- Candidates should possess skills in supporting Desktop Computers, including installation, configuration, updates, and performance monitoring.
- Candidates should possess skills in Printer Support, including setup, connectivity, driver installation, and basic maintenance.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include strong communication and customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow documented procedures.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant coursework, certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+), or practical experience in IT support or help desk environments is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
