Multinational company which operates in the water sector is developing a huge project in the engineering area, based in Doha, Qatar.
We’re currently recruiting anIT SupervisorforDoha, Qatar.
Mission:
As an IT Supervisor, you will work in close coordination with the Corporate IT Department and all other Directors and Managers of the project. The Local IT Supervisor is accountable for all aspects of business relationship management from an IT standpoint, being the primary point of contact between Business and the client with IT and vice-versa. The candidate also ensures that IT services and support activities match Business needs through proactivecommunication.
In a quickly evolving environment, he/she is also accountable for developing the IT team and adapting their skills and expertise to Business and IT evolution.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the definition, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of all the ICT systems of the project.
Prepare and implement the ICT Strategy for the project.
Manage the tasks of the ICT team including organizing and allocating duties to staff.
Perform regular checks and audits of systems, network, and data security.
Act as support for the implementation of ERP systems.
Track and maintain hardware and software inventories. Perform research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
Oversee and determine time frames for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
Prepare the Annual Service Delivery Plans with the support of the Performance Director.
Support the Asset Management team and O&M Directors and Managers in the preparation of the SCADA Strategy, CMMS & GIS registries/updates, and O&M Reports.
Provide on-the-job ICT training to local staff in coordination with the HR Director.
Requirements:
5 years of experience in the ICT sector.
An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science or engineering. Other Master’s degrees are considered.
Fluent in English;
Arabic is desirable.
Experience managing a team of at least 5 members in application products development, implementation, or management.
Experience managing in an organization primarily usingagile developmentmethodologies.
Experience transitioning an organization from traditional toagile developmentmethodologies.
5 years of experience in software design/development, mobile applications, application architecture, big data environments, product management, software-as-a-service, software integration, automated software testing, data management/governance, business intelligence, security, and/or business process analysis.
5 years of demonstratedleadershipexperience building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients.
5 years of demonstrated experience managing a high-performing, cohesive team.
Desirable Experience:
5 years of experience working in the water and wastewater industry.
5 years of experience managing external IT service providers.
5 years of experience managing the risk and cost implications of IT contracts or contract negotiations.
