Internal UAV Pilot Jobs in Abu Dhabi at Air Q Limited
We are seeking a highly qualified Internal UAV Pilot who can successfully fulfill the job description outlined below
Flight Operations
o Plan, execute and oversee UAV flights for [e.g., test flying, commercial/military operations that could include; flight testing, surveillance, client operations etc.].
o Verify pre-flight checks, perform risk assessments and flight path planning and have these approved by the VP of Flight Operations
o Adjust flight plans and risk assessments to an approved level by the VP for safe operations.
o Operate autonomously UAVs in various environments, ensuring mission success while adhering to safety protocols.
Equipment Maintenance:
o Ensure routine maintenance and troubleshooting of UAV hardware and software is completed.
o Ensure all UAVs and related equipment is in good working condition and updated with the latest firmware as required.
Data Collection and Analysis:
o Process logs, aerial imagery, videos, or data as required by projects.
o Utilize tools and software to analyze collected data and generate actionable insights or reports.
Compliance and Documentation:
o Ensure adherence to local and international UAV regulations, including GCAA (if applicable), National Aviation Authorities, or equivalent bodies.
o Maintain and update logs for flight hours, maintenance, and incident reports.
Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with internal teams (e.g., R&D, assembly, production, engineering etc) to align UAV activities with organizational goals.
o Provide training/guidance to team members on UAV-related operations when necessary.
o Focal point working with clients and range control officers in the field.
Safety and Risk Management:
o Assist the VP to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for UAV operations.
o Respond to emergencies or incidents promptly to minimize risks.
Qualifications and Skills:
o Valid UAV pilot certification to assist or takeover the external pilot role (as required).
o Additional certifications in advanced UAV operations or specialized areas (e.g., EVLOS, BVLOS operations) are a plus.
o Train the Trainer would be desirable.
Technical Skills:
o Knowledge of electrical engineering and electromechanics is mandatory
o Proficiency in operating and maintaining UAVs (fixed wing, VTOL, helicopters, multirotor).
o Experience with UAV software tools (e.g., flight planning, mapping, data analysis)

Soft Skills:
o Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
o Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness.
o Effective communication and teamwork skills.
o Microsoft Office.
Other Requirements:
o Ability to travel and work in field environments.
o Physically fit to carry equipment and operate in challenging conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Drivers License is mandatory
o Knowledge of operating UAVs in various scenarios.
o Familiarity with BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) or EVLOS (Extended Visual Line of Sight) operations.
Work Environment:
o Combination of office-based work and fieldwork.
o Exposure to various weather conditions during field operations.
o Assisting the technicians with pre and post preparations including UAV maintenance.
