Job Overview:
The Ticketing and Airline Affairs Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of airline
ticketing, reservations, and customer service related to travel bookings. This role requires
exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in
a fast-paced environment. The specialist ensures that tickets are issued accurately, customer
inquiries are handled promptly, and any issues related to airline policies are resolved effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
ï‚· Ticketing & Reservations Management:
o Process flight bookings and issue airline tickets accurately and promptly.
o Handle customer inquiries related to flight availability, pricing, and schedules.
o Assist with changes, cancellations, and rebookings, following airline policies and
procedures.
o Ensure compliance with all airline regulations, including fare rules, refund
policies, and baggage allowances.
ï‚· Customer Support & Communication:
o Provide support to customers before, during, and after their travel, offering
solutions for any issues related to bookings, flight changes, or refunds.
o Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in-person to resolve issues or
provide assistance.
ï‚· Liaison with Airlines:
o Act as the point of contact between customers and airline representatives.
o Stay up-to-date with airline policies, travel advisories, and industry regulations to
provide accurate and timely information to customers.
o Coordinate with airlines for special requests, group bookings, and other special
arrangements.
ï‚· Data Entry & Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of ticketing transactions, customer inquiries, and
service-related issues.
o Assist in generating reports on booking statistics, refunds, or any ticketing-related
data when required.
ï‚· Problem Resolution:
o Address and resolve issues related to flight delays, cancellations, overbookings, or
customer complaints with empathy and professionalism.
o Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to resolve
complex situations.
Qualifications:
ï‚· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Hospitality, Travel, or Business
Administration) is preferred.
ï‚· Experience:
o Proven experience in ticketing, airline affairs, or customer service in the travel
industry.
o Familiarity with airline booking systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo) and
global distribution systems (GDS).
ï‚· Skills:
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
o Ability to stay calm under pressure and deal with challenging situations.
o Knowledge of airline policies, including ticketing rules, refund policies, and fare
structures.
ï‚· Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Communication tools – Zoom, Teams, Slack,
o Productivity Tools – googledrive, MS Office, Amadeus, Sabre, GDS, Booking
Platforms, BI tools such as google data etc
o Ability to learn and work with airline-specific reservation software and tools.
