Role Summary: The VDI Inspector performs inspections of casing pipes in accordance with applicable standards, procedures, and customer specifications. The role is responsible for visually inspecting the external surface of pipes, verifying traceability markings, completing inspection reports, reporting nonconformities to the QC Shift Supervisor, and collaborating with Screw-On Operators to support process adjustments and quality improvements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of casing pipes in accordance with applicable standards, procedures, and customer specifications.
  • Conduct visual inspection of the external pipe surface according to TF requirements and applicable inspection criteria.
  • Verify traceability markings to ensure proper product identification and compliance with requirements.
  • Complete and maintain required inspection reports, registers, and logs accurately.
  • Inform the QC Shift Supervisor of inspection issues, process deviations, and recurring product nonconformities.
  • Collaborate with Screw-On Operators by providing feedback to support process adjustments and improve product quality.
  • Execute assigned tasks efficiently and effectively while following the direction of the immediate supervisor.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities in accordance with the job description, applicable procedures, work instructions, and company documentation.
  • Maintain procedures, work instructions, and other controlled documents under own responsibility.
  • Contribute effectively as a team member toward achieving AMTPJ’s quality objectives, business goals, and strategic direction.
  • Support AMTPJ’s continual improvement initiatives to meet customer requirements, applicable legal requirements, and organizational objectives.

Education & Experience:

  • Technical School, Technical College, Industrial High School, or Secondary School graduate.
  • 1–3 years of experience in the pipe inspection process or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of thread inspection, thread types, and thread inspection criteria.
  • Good knowledge of API and ASTM/ASME standards related to pipe inspection.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Skills:

  • Ability to develop effective working practices and provide feedback to support quality improvement.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in standard corporate software applications.
  • Good troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience using inspection systems and quality documentation software is preferred.
