Position: Work Inspector -Structure
Job Description
- Inspect structural works on-site including concrete, steel, formwork, rebar, precast elements, and associated civil infrastructure.
- Monitor contractors’ activities to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, method statements, materials, and relevant specifications.
- Report any non-conformances, delays, or deviations from the contract documents to the Site Engineer or Resident Engineer.
- Witness material testing and ensure the correct implementation of quality control procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive site records including daily inspections, progress updates, and photographic evidence.
- Review and verify contractor’s daily reports and check the adequacy of manpower and equipment on-site.
- Coordinate with other discipline inspectors to resolve interface issues and ensure proper integration of works.
- Participate in technical and progress meetings as required.
- Assist in reviewing method statements and ITPs from a site implementation perspective.
- Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental regulations are adhered to on-site.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in structural inspection, preferably on infrastructure or roads & highways projects.
- Prior experience working on Ashghal projects or with a GEC in Qatar is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of structural construction methods and quality control.
- Familiar with international codes and standards (e.g., ACI, BS, ASTM).
- Strong communication skills and ability to write clear technical reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software (preferred).
