Title: Infrastructure & Physical Security Systems Engineer

Role Purpose:

The Infrastructure & Physical Security Systems Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, deploying, and supporting IT infrastructure solutions across hosting, network, and end‑user computing.

The role also owns day‑to‑day operations, administration, and support of the Genetec physical security platform.

The position acts as a key interface between the IT Solution Department and all departments, ensuring solutions are delivered securely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with standards and policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Project Delivery & Solution Design
  • Perform day‑to‑day execution of infrastructure projects.
  • Design infrastructure solutions in collaboration with tower leads (Hosting, Network, End User Computing).
  • Deploy solutions on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Apply Secure‑by‑Design principles across all infrastructure solutions.
  • Design and manage interfaces between infrastructure systems.
  • Provide technical mentoring and support to Infrastructure and Operations teams.
  • Create and maintain accurate As‑Designed and As‑Deployed documentation.

 

Genetec Operations & Facilities Support:

  • Own day‑to‑day IT operations and administration of Genetec systems.
  • Support Facilities and other departments on all Genetec‑related requests.
  • Coordinate with system integrators and vendors for incidents, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Ensure Genetec systems remain secure, available, and well-documented.
  • Vendor & Commercial Management.

Partner with Finance and Purchasing to:

  • Raise Purchase Requisitions (PRs)
  • Create and submit RFPs
  • Ensure Purchase Orders (POs) are issued on time

Track and report:

  • PR and PO status
  • Vendor delivery progress
  • Recommend cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising quality or security.
  • Effectively interface with service providers and vendors.

 

Technical Knowledge & Experience:

  • Infrastructure Technologies
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD (AAD), and identity & access integration.
  • Network design knowledge including:
  • Firewalls, switching, routing, and wireless
  • SD‑WAN, MPLS, OSPF, BGP
  • OT networking for manufacturing environments
  • Fiber, copper, microwave, 4G/5G
  • ACI, ISE, RADIUS

Hosting & Compute:

  • Servers, and storage
  • On‑prem compute and cloud solutions
  • Backup systems and data centers
  • End User Computing:
  • Desktops, laptops, and tablets
  • Graphics design solutions
  • Printers, screens, and peripherals

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • Preferred: ITIL v3+ Foundation.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in IT Infrastructure or Solution Engineering roles.
