Senior IT Manager

Location: Dubai, UAE

Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time | Office-Based

The Opportunity

A well-established and rapidly growing international financial services organization is seeking an experienced Senior IT Manager to oversee daily IT operations and ensure the reliability, security, and performance of its technology environment. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a technically strong professional who can balance operational delivery with strategic improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining business continuity, supporting end users, managing infrastructure and security, and driving technology projects that enhance efficiency and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Administration & Support

  • Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Teams Telephony
  • Administer Azure Active Directory, including user provisioning, access controls, and security policies
  • Monitor and manage security tools such as Defender and Intune
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and user guidance for Microsoft 365 applications

Network & Infrastructure Management

  • Maintain on-premises Active Directory, including Group Policies and authentication services
  • Manage file servers, backups, permissions, and storage optimization
  • Ensure network stability, performance, and security across LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN environments
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers to support infrastructure reliability

IT Support & Service Delivery

  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues (Level 2/3 support)
  • Oversee IT service desk operations and improve service delivery processes
  • Maintain clear documentation of systems, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Conduct routine system maintenance, patching, and upgrades

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain IT security best practices, including MFA, conditional access, and data protection controls
  • Monitor and respond to system and security alerts
  • Support compliance with internal policies and industry standards

IT Leadership & Projects

  • Contribute to IT planning and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead small to medium technology projects, including system migrations and upgrades
  • Mentor and support junior IT team members
  • Manage IT procurement and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective solutions

Telephony Systems

  • Manage and maintain business telephony infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot communication system issues and coordinate upgrades when required

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Windows Server and Active Directory (on-premises and cloud)
  • Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune)
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V)
  • Networking concepts including LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, and VPNs
  • IT security tools and best practices
  • Advanced troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network environments
  • Understanding of IT governance, risk, and compliance principles

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an IT management or senior infrastructure/support role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 environments
  • Experience supporting Windows servers and enterprise IT systems

Desirable

  • Professional IT certifications
  • Experience with system migrations (e.g., file server to SharePoint or tenant-to-tenant transitions)
  • Strong networking and firewall configuration knowledge
