Job Summary
The Indo-Chinese Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting authentic Indo-Chinese dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, consistency, and kitchen safety. The role requires creativity, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indo-Chinese dishes according to approved recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation of all menu items.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and sanitation in accordance with HACCP and food safety regulations.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage of all ingredients.
- Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of raw materials.
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and introducing new dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and utensils.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served within the required time.
- Coordinate with the purchasing and stores departments regarding stock requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or quality issues.
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff when required.
- Follow all hotel policies, kitchen procedures, and health & safety regulations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Chef or Kitchen Management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an Indo-Chinese Chef in a hotel or restaurant.
- Good knowledge of authentic Indo-Chinese cuisine, sauces, marinades, and cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with HACCP and food safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders efficiently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Culinary certification is an advantage.
