Job Title: Kitchen Steward
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Steward to join our team at Japanese Reif Kushiyaki. The Kitchen Steward plays a key role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment by handling dishwashing, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring all health and sanitation guidelines are followed. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow in the hospitality industry and be part of a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
– Ensure the kitchen is clean, well-maintained, and organized at all times.
– Wash dishes, china ware, flatware, cutlery, crockery, and kitchen vessels.
– Sweep and mop floors, ensuring they are dry and clean at all times.
– Adhere to sanitation and hygiene guidelines as per company standards.
– Assist cooks and servers with basic tasks as needed.
– Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and dispose of waste following guidelines.
– Operate industrial dishwashers and clean pots, pans, and utensils routinely.
– Report breakages, chipped items, or hazards to the Head Steward.
– Ensure all workstations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized.
– Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
– At least 2 years of experience in a similar role is a plus.
– Experience in a restaurant environment is preferred.
– Knowledge of basic food hygiene and sanitation standards is an advantage.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Flexible and able to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
