Position Summary
The HYDRA Football Coach is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating high‑quality football training sessions that support the development of athletes across all age groups and abilities within the HYDRA Sports Academy.
The role focuses on enhancing technical, tactical, physical, and psychosocial development, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high‑performance environment aligned with HYDRA Sports’ philosophy and ASD’s educational values.
The coach will contribute to both participation and performance pathways, support competitive fixtures and tournaments, and collaborate closely with the HYDRA Sports Program Manager, HYDRA Football Head Coach, colleagues, and parents to ensure a consistent and impactful athlete experience.
A strong commitment to safeguarding, athlete welfare, sportsmanship, and holistic development is essential. The incumbent will actively promote the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social responsibility, ensuring all participants feel safe, valued, and supported.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, structured training sessions aligned with HYDRA’s Plan–Do–Review framework
- Coach multiple teams and age groups as directed by the HYDRA Football Head Coach
- Develop and implement progressive training programs across participation and performance levels
- Support the development of individual player pathways and long‑term athlete development
- Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive training environment
- Support and attend fixtures, tournaments, and events as required
- Assist with planning and coordination of competitions and fixtures
- Monitor and communicate player progress with athletes, parents, and coaching staff
- Contribute to talent identification and squad selection processes
- Work collaboratively with HYDRA coaches to share best practice and session ideas
- Attend and contribute to CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions
- Engage in daily communication with the HYDRA Football Head Coach regarding athlete development and program needs
- Uphold and promote HYDRA’s culture, standards, and professional expectations
- Complete and maintain:
- Support ASD‑hosted tournaments and events when required
- Liaise with external teams and organisations to facilitate fixtures and competitions
- Conduct regular equipment and facility checks, reporting any safety concerns
- Prioritise the safety and well‑being of all participants at all times
- Adhere strictly to ASD Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies
- Maintain professional conduct in line with HYDRA and ASD expectations
- Support education and awareness of safeguarding practices for athletes and parents
- Commit to continuous professional growth, including:
- Completion of at least one coaching qualification/course per year
- Active participation in CPD and internal development programs
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach or Management Team
Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience coaching football
- Experience working with athletes aged 5–18 years across development and competitive football environments
- Strong understanding of player development frameworks
- Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate sessions effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Competent in using Mac/PC systems and coaching software
- Proficient in English (spoken and written)
Qualifications
- Football Coaching Qualification – UEFA C License (or equivalent)
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) with relevant experience
- Degree in Sports Coaching or related field (preferred)
Desirable
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working within an educational/school environment
- Football Coaching Qualification – UEFA B License (or equivalent)
- Experience using VEO or video analysis platforms
- Ability to read, write, and speak Arabic
Required Documentation
- Police Clearance (Country of Origin) issued within the past 6 months
- Completion of:

- Physical activity, including:
- Outdoor coaching in hot weather conditions
