HVAC Technician
Duties & Responsibilities:
Install and set up HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ventilation units, and refrigeration systems.
Perform ductwork installation and insulation to ensure proper airflow.
Install thermostats, humidistats, and other climate control devices.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure HVAC systems operate efficiently.
Clean and replace filters, coils, fans, and belts to maintain performance.
Lubricate motors and bearings to prevent wear and tear.
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning HVAC components, including compressors, motors, and sensors.
Repair or replace faulty wiring, thermostats, and electronic controls.
Test HVAC performance using meters, gauges, and diagnostic tools.
Recommend upgrades or modifications to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.
Follow safety protocols for handling refrigerants and electrical components.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, OSHA regulations, and HVAC industry standards.
Conduct carbon monoxide and air quality tests for safe indoor environments.
Maintain service records, work orders, and maintenance logs.
Provide cost estimates for repairs and new installations.
Work closely with electricians, plumbers, and other technicians in construction or maintenance teams.
Train junior technicians and assist in complex troubleshooting.
Requirements:
2–5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair.
Experience working with residential, commercial, or industrial HVAC systems.
