Job Overview
Key duties and Responsibilities
Policy Compliance and Legal Adherence
- Ensure all employee relations activities comply with Egypt labour laws and internal policies.
- Guide managers on policy interpretation and consistent application of rules.
- Oversee employee documentation including warnings, terminations and disciplinary actions.
Talent Management and Acquisition in coordination with HQ
- Manage the recruitment lifecycle for construction related to locally hired positions ensuring timely and quality hires to meet project timelines.
- Manage the workforce planning ensuring that the team is adequately staffed with the right skill sets for current and future projects.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates to fill critical construction roles.
Employee Development and Training
- Identify training needs and ensure continuous learning and skill-building within the team, particularly with regard to new construction methods, safety protocols and industry standards.
Grievance Handling and Conflict Resolution
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex employee grievances and workplace conflicts.
- Ensure grievances are resolved fairly, transparently and in a timely manner.
- Mediate disputes between employees and departments to foster mutual understanding.
- Lead investigations into complaints including harassment, misconduct and policy violations.
- Document findings and recommend appropriate actions to management.
Performance Management
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement performance management systems that support project timelines and goals.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing coaching and feedback to improve productivity and teamwork on construction sites.
- Support the implementation of improvement plans for underperforming employees and ensure performance reviews are aligned with project milestones.
- Ensure that all employees are compliant with regulations, including health and safety practices and report any concerns to the management team.
Workforce Planning
- Oversee workforce planning to ensure that projects are adequately staffed and that project deadlines are met.
- Act as an advisor to employees on labor laws, social security, taxes and regulations ensuring compliance with local labor codes and health and safety standards.
HR Analytics and Reporting
- Track and report on key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, employee engagement, recruitment progress) for construction teams.
- Analyze trends in labor shortages, skill gaps and employee turnover to inform HR and improve workforce planning.
- Provide regular reports and insights to management on HR related construction matters.
Employee Engagement
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to implement initiatives that improve workplace morale.
- Promote a culture of trust, respect and inclusivity within the organization.
Training and Advisory
- Provide training and advice to employees on handling relations issues effectively.
Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of employee relations cases and generate insights for leadership.
- Provide regular reports on trends including grievance types and resolutions.
Other Tasks and Accountabilities
- Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by the management to be able to achieve the objectives/commitments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS available standards.
Position Requirements
Work Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field
Skills/Behaviour Attributes
- Excellent command of both Arabic and English oral and written.
- Strong leadership and strategic HR management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of labour laws, social security and taxes.
- Very good knowledge of talent management and organizational development.
- Proven ability to develop HR policies, resolve employee relations issues and drive workplace culture.
- Exceptional communication and management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
