The opportunity
The Hub HSE Manager identifies, assesses, and manages HSE risks, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and Hitachi Energy’s global operating system (OS) for HSE and Sustainability. The incumbent provides expert advice and support on key HSE issues, facilitating best practices across business units. He or She defines and implements actions to enhance HSE performance, develop and execute strategies, and oversee HSE processes.
The Hub HSE Manager leads initiatives to improve HSE standards, promotes a culture of excellence, and monitors performance for continuous improvement. He or She also develops and delivers HSE training programs to foster a proactive HSE culture.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Culture and leadership as implementing Hitachi Energy HSE Strategy aligned with business needs, serving as a role model to foster a learning and improving HSE culture and influencing employees to support HSE strategy and decision-making.
Advocating for customers in HSE-related issues independently, coaching and guiding teams in HSE methods and tools and driving behavioral change to ensure an exemplary HSE culture and environmental focus.
Communication and Learnings as representing HSE in front of external stakeholders when needed, gathering feedback, identifying improvement areas, and implementing changes and providing insights to Global HSE Leadership for continual improvement.
Enhancing lessons learned and best practices, engaging stakeholders to raise awareness and gain commitment on HSE efforts and collaborating with other functions to enhance performance.
Digitalization and Analytics as analyzing HSE incidents to identify trends and priorities, sharing lessons learned and best practices across teams, reporting on HSE performance and progress on objectives and KPIs, and using digital tools to drive improvement programs.
Operations and Risk Management as implementing HSE standards and programs, supporting internal functional audits, assisting senior management with HSE obligations and compliance, conducting HSE risk assessments with line management, and ensuring adherence to HSE and Sustainability Operating System.
Governance and Competency as staying updated with HSE laws, regulations, and industry trends, leading HSE capability development and workforce management, identifying and initiating upskilling/training needs, and managing HSE budget and performance against financial targets.

Your background
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant industry is preferred.
Minimum 10+ years of HSE experience in industrial manufacturing is required.
Knowledge of HSE regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO
45001 & ISO
14001).
Ability to influence senior management in a matrixed environment.
Capable of working autonomously with remote, global, and managing teams.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
