Job Responsibilities
Conducting HSE audits, inspections, risk assessments, and evaluations to detect existing or potential accidents and hazards and to determine preventative measures.
Promoting, with the management, a safety culture within the workplace in accordance with industry best practices.
Leading/participating effectively in site HSE meetings, communicating HSE alerts and lessons learned, and discussing issues related to HSE with the plant operators.
Performing, verifying, and following up with site inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external HSE standards.
Ensuring all incidents, accidents, and near misses are timely reported and facilitating the investigation and analysis process.
Providing support to the manufacturing facility for investigations, developing improvements, corrective action plans, and follow-up initiatives.
Supporting operations through championing and implementing various safety programs to reduce workplace hazards.
Ensuring adherence to HSE policies and procedures and assisting contracted services to comply with the same.
Participating in various safety drills to ensure the effectiveness of the site emergency response.
Reviewing daily observations and taking prompt actions to highlight significant observations to the HSE Manager.
Skills
Have a diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant field.
Have working experience in Environmental Health & Safety for less than 3-5 years.
Preferred HSE Professional training OSHA or NEBOSH certificate.
Have a thorough understanding of HSE regulations and the regulatory process.
Be familiar with waste handling requirements, hazardcommunicationstandards, risk identification, and mitigation.
Demonstrate goodleadershipand presentation skills.
Be able to mentor, manage, and facilitate the safety champions program within assigned locations.
Proficient computer skills.
