HSE Specialist Jobs in Abu Dhabi at SAA construction and general maintenance

Job Specific Accountabilities

Supervise the activities of assigned personnel and perform supervisory functions at the level established by the management

Carry out Safety Inspections according to approved program in order to detect safety and fire hazards and unsafe working practices and conditions.

Investigate and report on accidents and proper functions of all safety equipment.

Ensure implementation of regular inspection, maintenance and cleaning programmer for all compressed air breathing apparatus and resuscitation equipment.

Plan and prepare for hot-work, naked flame and radiography, signatory for work permit and checks work site

Participate in Task Risk Assessment and ensure that mitigation measures are identified in the work permits and knowledge of hazards are cascaded to those who carry out the task.

Inspect fixed and mobile material handling equipment to ensure adherence to safety standard and codes of practice

Ensure implementation of Safety Rules and Procedures by Company and Contractor employees on sit

Assist in implementing specific activities and Programs under the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS)

· Monitor that PTW requirements are implemented on site and the Task Risk

· Assessments are performed for all critical activities. Assist in maintaining critical safety equipment (fire-fighting, breathing apparatus, rescue operation equipment etc.) and implement the replacement plans effectively.

Provide technical information on fire, safety and environment equipment to Procurement Department as necessary prior to procurement of this equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned such as prepare & issue reports, participate in committees & task forces, and coordinate accident investigation and their respective follow-up.

Conduct HSE Engagement tours on projects sites.

Demonstrate appropriate levels of knowledge and responsibility regarding Technical and Operational Integrity processes of AIRMS.

Plan and arrange to conduct induction and refresher safety training courses for all ADNOC LNG Projects personnel/ Contractors I Visitors.

Instruct personnel in specialized subjects such as first aid, permit to work system, gas detection, confined space entry, radiography, hazardous chemicals, fire equipment. breathing apparatus, noise, etc.

Co-ordinate with L&D Department. Abu Dhabi for the arrangements for external courses in safety, and industrial hygiene.

Submit to Team Leader Safety & Health (LNG/ASR) the HSE Spotlights I Flashes I LFI whenever required.

Conduct the daily HSEO categorization and analysis and ensure that the HIPO HSEO are followed up for close out. Follow-up and maintain a register of all Live Saving Rule violations and their remedial actions

Follow-up all injury cases admitted to Das clinic and update Manager HSE (Site) with progress status until the injured person leaves Das clinic.

Conduct the following audits (contractor yard audit I camps & accommodation welfare

I daily PTW are conducted as planned.

Provide support and assist to organize HSE requirement for major & mini shutdown. Participate in HSE workplace committee held by other divisions is attended by HSE Specialist.

Conduct monthly evacuation drills are conducted as planned.

Establish and maintain close coordination with Das Island ADNOC Offshore HSE team, Das Fire& Rescue Department. Conduct regular meetings and share campaign resources/arrangements.

Safeguard own Health and Safety, as well as that of the fellow employees, by paying attention to safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and complying with applicable HSE requirements.

Take action to INTERVENE and STOP any un-safe activity or non-compliance with HSE requirements, if witnessed, and report the incident – regardless of your position or that of the transgressor

Develop consistent and realistic long and short term operational plans for the Department in line with the Division objectives and manage the implementation of the approved long and short term plans and ensure they are effectively converted into its performance objectives to realise the Division Objectives and established service levels.

Develop and manage the Department annual budget in line with the Division’s business objectives and operational plans ensuring that adequate funding provision is made for all Department activities.

Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering or Equivalent with an Accredited HSE Certification or Diploma

Preferred 6 – 8 years of experience in HSE in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry

Effective communication skills.

Good attention to detail, analytical, and decision-making ability.

Valid UAE Driving License. Professional Certifications

Accredited Safety/HSE Diploma (NEBOSH etc.).
