Financial Controller (FINTECH) – UAE&South Africa Business Verticals **Position:** Financial Controller **Location:** Dubai, UAE **Department:** Finance&Accounts **Reports to:** Chairman & CEO (DUBAI OFFICE) **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Industry:** FINTECH, REMITTANCE, INSURANCE, COMMUNICATION Job Summary We are looking for an experienced **Financial Controller** to oversee the financial management, reporting, and strategic financial planning for our UAE and South Africa business verticals. This role will ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and internal controls while optimizing the company’s financial health. In addition to managing core financial functions, the **Financial Controller** will be responsible for **collaborating with all group heads and financial teams** across verticals on a **monthly basis**, consolidating financial reports, and submitting a **comprehensive financial overview to the Group Chairman**. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Planning&Strategic Management – Develop and execute financial strategies that align with business goals in **UAE&South Africa**. – Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process across all group verticals. – Provide financial insights and recommendations to **group heads and senior management**. – Support business expansion initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and investment decisions. 2. Financial Reporting&Monthly Consolidation – Ensure accurate and timely preparation of **monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements**. – **Engage with all group heads and financial team members monthly** to collect and consolidate financial reports from **all business verticals**. – Prepare a **comprehensive financial report for submission to the Group Chairman**, detailing **financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities**. – Oversee compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT, corporate tax, and South Africa’s financial regulations. – Manage statutory audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors. 3. Internal Controls&Risk Management – Establish, implement, and monitor strong **financial controls** to mitigate risks and ensure compliance. – Conduct periodic internal audits and recommend financial governance improvements. – Ensure proper documentation and tracking of financial transactions across all verticals. – Strengthen fraud prevention, risk assessment, and compliance frameworks. 4. Treasury&Cash Flow Management – Monitor and optimize **cash flow, working capital, and liquidity** across UAE and South Africa operations. – Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and funding strategies. – Implement and enforce **cost-control measures and financial efficiency** initiatives. 5. Business Partnering&Performance Monitoring – Work closely with group heads and management to drive financial efficiency and growth. – Provide financial modeling and feasibility analysis for **new projects and investments**. – Track financial KPIs and develop action plans to **improve profitability and operational efficiency**. – Develop SOPs to ensure standardized financial practices across all business units. 6. Leadership&Team Development – Lead, mentor, and oversee the finance teams in **UAE and South Africa**. – Conduct **monthly financial review meetings** with finance teams across verticals. – Ensure continuous training and upskilling within the finance function. – Foster a culture of **financial accountability and transparency**. Qualifications&Experience Education&Certifications – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in **Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration**. – Professional qualifications such as **CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA** (preferred). Experience – **10+ years** of experience in financial management, accounting, or controlling. – **5+ years** in a senior finance leadership role managing multiple business units. – Experience handling financial operations across **UAE and South Africa** (preferred). – Prior experience in **corporate services, consulting, or professional services** is a plus. Technical Skills – Strong expertise in **IFRS, UAE VAT, corporate tax, and South Africa’s financial regulations**. – Proficiency in **financial software** (Zoho Books, SAP, QuickBooks, or equivalent). – Advanced Excel skills, financial modeling, and data analysis expertise. Soft Skills – Strong **leadership, communication, and stakeholder management** abilities. – High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. – Strategic thinking with a problem-solving mindset.
