Fire Truck Fabricator
Description:
We are seeking a skilled Fire Truck Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabricating and assembling fire trucks and emergency response vehicles, ensuring that all components meet industry standards for performance, safety, and durability. This role involves working with various materials, including metals and composites, and using advanced fabrication techniques to build high-quality, reliable fire trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate and assemble fire trucks and emergency response vehicles, focusing on structural components, chassis, and equipment installations.
Work with blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to create custom fire truck designs and modifications.
Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and other fabrication tasks to build and modify fire truck frames, body panels, and other structural components.
Install and configure fire truck systems, including water pumps, hose reels, ladders, and emergency lighting.
Ensure all fabricated parts and systems meet safety standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that designs are feasible and functional for emergency service needs.
Perform inspections and quality control checks on fabricated vehicles to ensure they meet design specifications.
Maintain fabrication equipment and tools, ensuring they are in safe and good working condition.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a fabricator, ideally with experience in fire truck or emergency vehicle construction.
Proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG, stick) and metalworking techniques.
Strong understanding of vehicle systems and firefighting equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Familiarity with fire truck systems, including pumps, ladders, lighting, and hydraulic systems.
Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, durable results in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the fabrication of fire trucks or specialized emergency vehicles.
Knowledge of firefighting standards and regulations.
Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems, pumping systems, and hydrant fittings.
Certification in welding or other fabrication-related certifications is a plus.
Ability to work with custom vehicle modifications and specialized equipment installations.
