Job Title: Senior Accountant – Fitout Industry Experience Required

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting within the UAE, specifically in the interior fitout or construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of project accounting, financial reporting, and cost management. You will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial activities, managing budgets for fitout projects, and ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, UAE tax regulations, and company policies.
Oversee project accounting activities, including tracking costs, preparing billing schedules, and ensuring timely invoicing for completed projects.
Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring expenditures are within approved limits, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management, advising on the financial health of the company and specific projects.
Ensure accurate VAT reporting and tax compliance, liaising with external auditors and tax consultants when required.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to best practices.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations and mitigate financial risks.
Support the preparation of annual financial forecasts and strategic planning initiatives.
Liaise with internal teams (Project Managers, Procurement, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of accounting data with project schedules and deliverables.
Qualifications:
5 to 10 years of experience in accounting, specifically within the fitout, construction, or contracting industry in the UAE.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of UAE financial regulations, VAT, and project-based accounting practices.
Strong proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks, Tally ERP9, Zoho , and Microsoft Excel.
Proven ability to manage large-scale project accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for fitout or construction projects.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and financial management.
Additional Requirements:
Fluency in English (Hindi language skills are an advantage).
UAE driving license is preferred.
A track record of managing finances for interior fitout or construction projects is required.
