Role Description The Hot Tap & Line Stop Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates. In this position, the technician performs hot tapping and line stopping operations on pressurized pipelines and systems, following strict safety and quality procedures. Daily responsibilities include setting up and operating specialized equipment, inspecting tools and components, and preparing work areas in coordination with project and site teams. The role involves performing maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, troubleshooting operational issues in the field, and documenting work performed for quality and compliance purposes. The technician collaborates closely with supervisors, engineers, and client representatives to ensure jobs are completed safely, on schedule, and in line with technical specifications.
Qualifications

  • Strong Maintenance & Repair and Preventive Maintenance skills for hot tap, line stop, and related industrial equipment.
  • Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting to identify, analyze, and resolve equipment and process issues in the field.
  • Experience with Quality Control practices to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable hot tap and line stop operations.
  • Clear and professional Communication skills for working with supervisors, clients, and site teams in high-risk environments.
  • Relevant technical or vocational qualification in mechanical, industrial, or pipeline engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in hot tapping, line stopping, or related pipeline intervention work, ideally in oil and gas or heavy industry.
  • Solid understanding of industrial safety standards, permit-to-work systems, and safe working practices for pressurized systems.
  • Ability to work on-site in varying conditions, including shifts and emergency call-outs, and to handle physically demanding tasks.
