About the Role
ASCO FZCO is seeking an experienced Honing Operator with Cylindrical Grinding Experience to join our Production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating honing machines and carrying out precision grinding operations to repair and manufacture high-accuracy components for the mechanical and oil & gas industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate vertical and horizontal honing machines.
- Perform cylindrical and surface grinding operations on precision components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, route cards, and work instructions.
- Set up fixtures, tooling, and work-holding equipment.
- Measure and inspect components using micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Ensure finished components meet specified tolerances and quality requirements.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
- Follow company HSE, quality, and operational procedure
Requirements Essential
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the mechanical, manufacturing, machining, or oil & gas industry.
- Proven experience operating honing machines or similar precision grinding equipment.
- Experience in cylindrical grinding and precision machining.
- Strong knowledge of honing procedures, tooling, and work-holding fixtures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators.
- Good English communication skills.
Preferred
- Centre lathe experience.
- Experience with carbide, ceramic, and other precision-engineered materials.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and workshop best practices.
