Job Description
We are hiring a qualified and enthusiastic Homeroom Teacher/Year 5/6 Primary Teacher (Mathematics Specialist) – British Curriculum, Upper Primary Teacher with a strong Mathematics background to teach Years 5 and 6 within the British Curriculum for one of our esteemed international level well-established British Curriculum schools in Al Ain, UAE. Candidates must demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a proven ability to raise student achievement in Mathematics.
Primary Teachers with significant experience teaching Mathematics at Upper Primary level are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Year 5/6 lessons aligned with the British Curriculum.
- Plan and teach high-quality Mathematics lessons.
- Prepare students for academic progression through effective assessment and targeted intervention.
- Monitor student performance and provide regular feedback.
- Promote an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student success.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning.
- Support children’s academic, emotional, social, physical, and creative development.
- Observe, assess, and monitor children’s progress, maintaining accurate learning records.
- Differentiate learning activities to meet individual developmental needs.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, communication, and independent thinking.
- Establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Maintain effective classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
- Participate in school events, meetings, parent consultations, and professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety policies.
Candidate Requirements
- Nationality Preference: UK Nationals (NQTs encouraged), Irish Nationals, South African Nationals, Other native English-speaking teachers with proven British Curriculum experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or
- Bachelor’s Degree plus PGCE/PGDE (or equivalent).
Experience
- Minimum 2 years teaching the British Curriculum preferred.
- Strong Mathematics teaching experience in Years 5 and 6.
- UAE experience not required.
Preferred
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching licence.
