Job Vacancy: Heidelberg Offset Printing + UV Operator
The Heidelberg Offset Printing + UV Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Heidelberg sheetfed offset printing presses equipped with UV curing systems. The operator ensures high-quality print production, accurate color matching, proper registration, and efficient machine performance while meeting production schedules and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Heidelberg offset printing presses with UV curing technology.
- Review job orders, production schedules, and print specifications before production.
- Prepare and install printing plates, blankets, inks, coatings, and substrates.
- Perform make-ready procedures, including feeder setup, paper alignment, and press calibration.
- Monitor ink density, color consistency, registration, and print quality throughout production.
- Mix and match Pantone and custom colors to customer specifications.
- Operate and monitor UV curing systems to ensure proper ink and coating curing.
- Apply UV coatings, varnishes, and special finishes according to job requirements.
- Conduct regular quality inspections using visual checks and color measurement tools.
- Troubleshoot printing defects, registration issues, UV curing problems, and machine malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on the press and UV equipment.
- Record production data, machine performance, material usage, waste, and downtime.
- Coordinate with Prepress, Quality Control, and Finishing departments to ensure smooth production flow.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures, including proper handling of UV inks, coatings, chemicals, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pressroom environment.
Qualifications
- Have an experience in operating Heidelberg sheetfed offset printing machines with UV curing systems.
- Strong knowledge of offset printing processes, UV printing technology, color management, and Pantone color matching.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, production specifications, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance for Heidelberg presses and UV curing equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and meet production deadlines.
