K is looking for an Heavy Truck Driver – A truck driver works either for a company or under independent contracts whotransports different types of merchandise from one place to another in a truck,van or any vehicle capable of carrying large loads. He may have to transportsupplies, hazardous chemicals, manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility of a truck driver is to haul cargo from one point
to another so that they can be distributed, bought or sold - inspect trucks for safety and follow the safety instructions, especially
when carrying hazardous materials or chemicals - He is also responsible for the condition of his vehicle and look for any
malfunctioning part - He must inspect the cargo to check whether it has been loaded correctly
- He must also review all the necessary shipping documents
- Some truck drivers get an extra driver who works under him and drives in
shifts to take off the pressure from one driver. - Make sure for compliances of all safety procedures.
- Encourage reporting of unsafe acts and conditions
- Comply with all SHE procedures prior to commencement and during work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’experience in his field
- drivers need to be in good physical condition as theysometimes need to be on theroad for days without rest
- They should have knowledge of how to maintain the truck, in case itbreaks down in the middleofnowhere
- They must be punctual andfollow the schedule in orderto transport the merchandise on time
- They must also be verycareful and follow theprecautionary measureswhen carrying hazardous orfragile materials
