A Heavy Driver is responsible for safely operating heavy vehicles to transport goods, materials, equipment, or passengers while complying with traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy vehicles such as trucks, trailers, buses, tankers, or construction vehicles safely.
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations on time.
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic maintenance checks.
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, or traffic violations immediately.
- Follow delivery schedules and assigned routes.
- Load and unload cargo when required.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured during transportation.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, fuel records, and delivery documentation.
- Comply with traffic laws, safety standards, and company procedures.
Requirements
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
- Proven experience driving heavy vehicles.
- Good knowledge of traffic regulations and road safety practices.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Physical fitness and ability to work long hours when required.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Clean driving record preferred.
