Health & Safety Officer
About the role
Ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance across sites in Doha by implementing HSE systems, conducting inspections, and promoting a safety culture.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and job‑hazard analyses; record findings and drive corrective actions.
- Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures, safe work permits and permit‑to‑work systems.
- Deliver toolbox talks, induction training and specialised HSE training; maintain training records.
- Investigate incidents and near‑misses, lead root‑cause analysis, prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Monitor compliance with Qatari HSE regulations, client standards and company policies; support audits and permit/licence requirements.
- Manage PPE programmes, safety signage, emergency response plans and site evacuation drills.
- Track HSE performance metrics (LTIFR, TRIR, near misses, observations) and produce regular reports for management.
- Coordinate with contractors, supervisors and operations to ensure safe work practices and permit compliance.
- Support workplace ergonomics, occupational health surveillance and hazardous materials handling.
- Promote safety culture through behavioral safety observations, campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & experience
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years’ experience in HSE roles within construction, operations or industrial environments; Qatar/GCC experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Qatari HSE regulations, NEBOSH or IOSH certification desirable.
- Competence in incident investigation, risk assessment and emergency response planning.
- Strong communication and training delivery skills; proficiency in MS Office.
- Valid work authorisation for Qatar.
