Job Purpose

The occupational Safety Officer serves as the vital link between Supervisor and workers, holding critical responsibilities directly related to safeguarding lives and property. The role involves monitoring, and implementing safety policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance on-site, promptly reporting any violations or negligence, and proactively reducing risks to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance with local occupational safety regulations and company policies.
  • Implement directives from safety and security officers effectively.
  • Monitor the workplace and promptly report any deficiencies or risks.
  • Oversee the availability and proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of safety and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure workers comply with all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Conduct and update risk assessments for all worksites and activities.
  • Inspect and assess the safety of equipment, machinery, and tools regularly.
  • Perform regular inspections of worksites, emergency exits, and fire systems.
  • Ensure implementation of approved safety policies and plans.
  • Train new employees and workers on job-specific safety basics.
  • Investigate incidents, analyze root causes, and document findings with corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety records and reports, address complaints, and continuously improve the work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field

Minimum Experience: 0-2 years.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Saudi HSE regulations and standards.
  • Ability to conduct safety training sessions effectively.
  • Technical report writing and safety documentation.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in field environments.
  • proficiency in HSE systems and safety-related software.
